OCTOBER 1962 FIRST ISSUE PARLOPHONE RECORDS 5¾" X 3½" VERTICAL PHOTOCARD,
AUTOGRAPHED ON REVERSE BY
THE BEATLES.
SIGNED CIRCA EARLY 1963.

when The Beatles released their first single "Love Me Do" In October of 1962, their new record company, Parlophone Records produced a small quantity of promotional photocards in two formats - horizontal and vertical variations, both featuring images of the group in the studio at Abbey Road during their recording session for "Love Me Do". Taken September 4, 1962 by famed Beatles photographer Dezo Hoffmann, it shows the group in their final incarnation at the very beginning of their storied career. This promo card is one of the first depicting Ringo as a member of the band. NEARLY all of these cards were signed on the reverse, because there was very minimal clear areas on the front of the cards for their signatures.

FAB 4 COLLECTIBLES PROUDLY OFFERS AN EARLY 1963 FULL SET OF SIGNATURES ON THE REVERSE OF THE VERTICAL VARIATION OF THE OCTOBER 1962 FIRST ISSUE PARLOPHONE RECORDS PROMOTIONAL PHOTOCARD. THE BEAUTIFUL NEAR MINT SIGNATURES ON THE 5¾" X  3½" PHOTOCARD ARE ABSOLUTELY STRIKING. THEY REMAIN DARK, BOLD AND VERY CRISP. GEORGE AND JOHN HAVE SIGNED IN BLUE BALLPOINT PEN, WHILE PAUL HAS SIGNED IN BLUE FOUNTAIN INK. FINALLY, RINGO HAS SIGNED IN A DIFFERENT, DARKER SHADE OF BLUE BALLPOINT PEN. THE SCAN DOES NOT REALLY DISPLAY THE CLARITY AND BRILLIANCE OF THE AUTOGRAPHS, FOR THEY SIMPLY LEAP OFF THE CARD. NOTICE THE EARLY STYLES OF GEORGE AND JOHN.

ACCOMPANIED BY LETTER OF AUTHENTICITY FROM FRANK CAIAZZO. MR. CAIAZZO is considered to be the world's leading authority on Beatles signed and handwritten material. HIS articles have appeared IN SEVERAL books and magazines including "Autograph Collector" and "Beatlology". HE has served as consultant to several major auction houses including Sotheby's New York and London, Christie's, Bonhams, AND TO numerous smaller auction companies and autograph dealers worldwide. MR. CAIAZZO'S LETTER OF AUTHENTICITY HAS BEEN THE GOLD STANDARD IN THE BEATLES AUTOGRAPH COLLECTING COMMUNITY FOR OVER 25 YEARS.

IN ALL PHOTOS TAKEN DURING THIS SESSION, George Harrison sports a black eye ‘SUCKER-PUNCHED' UPON him outside the Cavern Club by an irate fan who was retaliating for the band’s decision to dump drummer Pete Best for Ringo Starr less than three weeks before the photoS WERE snapped. News of Best's sacking was greeted with shock and anger, particularly from female fans, FOR many found PETE to be the most attractive out of all The Beatles. Chants would break out in the Cavern... "Ringo never...! Pete Best forever... !" One disgruntled male fan TOOK IT OUT ON George, giving him THE black eye. ALTHOUGH HIS BLACK EYE IS SLIGHTLY VISIBLE IN THE PHOTO USED FOR THIS VERTICAL VARIATION PHOTOCARD, HERE IS ANOTHER SHOT FROM THE SESSION CLEARLY SHOWING THAT SHINER:
