THE BEATLES STAGED THEIR SECOND CONCERT TOUR OF THE UNITED STATES, WITH ONE DATE IN CANADA, IN THE LATE SUMMER OF 1965. AT THE PEAK OF AMERICAN "BEATLEMANIA", THEY PLAYED A MIXTURE OF OUTDOOR STADIUMS AND INDOOR ARENAS, WITH TWO HISTORIC STOPS ON THIS VENTURE. THE FIRST OF COURSE, WAS THE MONUMENTAL CONCERT AT NEW YORK'S SHEA STADIUM ON AUGUST 15TH. THE SECOND VENUE BEING TWO TRIUMPHANT SELL-OUT SHOWS AT THE PRESTIGIOUS HOLLYWOOD BOWL IN LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA, ON AUGUST 29TH AND 30TH. THE BEATLES EARNED $90,000 FROM THE TOTAL TAKE OF $156,000 FOR THE TWO CONCERTS AT THE BOWL. THE CONCERTS WERE PROMOTED BY BOB EUBANKS (TRULY FAMOUS AS HOST OF TELEVISION'S "THE NEWLYWED GAME"), AND RADIO STATION KRLA.

THIS TIME AROUND IN 1965, THE BEATLES PERFORMED THEIR STANDARD SET OF 12 SONGS AT THE CONCERTS : THE SHORTER VERSION OF "TWIST AND SHOUT", FOLLOWED BY "SHE'S A WOMAN", "I FEEL FINE", "DIZZY MISS LIZZIE", "TICKET TO RIDE", "EVERYBODY'S TRYING TO BE MY BABY", "CAN'T BUY ME LOVE", "BABY'S IN BLACK", "I WANNA BE YOUR MAN", "A HARD DAY'S NIGHT", "HELP!" AND CLOSING WITH "I'M DOWN". THE OTHER ACTS ON THE BILL WERE, IN ORDER OF APPEARANCE WERE KING CURTIS BAND, SOUNDS INCORPORATED AND THE DISCOTHEQUE DANCERS, BRENDA HOLLOWAY, AND CANNIBAL & THE HEADHUNTERS.

THIS FULL PAGE AD RAN IN THE MAY 5, 1965 EDITION OF THE LOS ANGELES TIMES. DESIGNED BY THE ADVERTISING FIRM OF EISAMAN, JOHNS AND LAWS, JOE EISAMAN started the agency in Los Angeles with his boyhood friend, Jess Johns. Bob Laws, WHO worked as a radio and television executive, joined the agency AS PARTNER IN 1959. The firm of Eisaman, Johns AND Laws, WAS one of the largest independent national advertising agencies in the West, AND Among their accounts were Pennzoil Motor Oil, Kahlua, Neutrogena and Pendleton.

THE BLACK AND WHITE AD FEATURES THE IMAGE OF THE BEATLES PERFORMING IN CONCERT AT THE 1964 HOLLYWOOD BOWL SHOW, and has THE TEXT "They're Back! Hollywood Bowl - August 29 And 30 - Presented By KRLA And Bob Eubanks". There is a blank ORDER FORM  AT THE BOTTOM, as tickets were available by mail only. THE Text at very bottom reads "Ad #7-125 - Full Page Newspaper - L.A Times - May 8, 1965 - Eisaman, Johns And Law - Los Angeles, Calif".

THE CONDITION OF THE PRINTER'S PROOF SLICK GRADES AT A VERY SOLID VG++ (FINE), WITH MINIMAL HANDLING AND A " PIECE OF PAPER LOSS ON THE LEFT EDGE OF THE WHITE BORDER AT THE CENTER. THERE IS A " TEAR RUNNING IN AT THE TOP EDGE OF THE WHITE BORDER NEAR THE LEFT AREA. FINALLY, A HORIZONTAL "SOFT CREASE" RUNNING HORIZONTALLY ACROSS THE SLICK JUST BELOW THE CENTER OF THE SLICK. THERE IS SOME LIGHT STAINING ON THE BACK. THERE ARE NO OTHER RIPS, TEARS, FOLDS OR WRITING.

PRINTED ON FLAT STOCK THICK PAPER, THIS PIECE OF BEATLES ADVERTISING HISTORY IS 100% ORIGINAL AND AUTHENTIC. THE REPRODUCTION POSTERS WERE PRINTED ON GLOSSY STOCK AND WERE LARGER IN SIZE. THIS IS THE ONLY KNOWN AD SLICK PRINTER'S PROOF FOR THIS ADVERTISEMENT TO HAVE SURFACED TO DATE.
