PROMOTIONAL RECORDS
UNITED ARTISTS

PROMOTIONAL RECORDS WERE DISTRIBUTED FOR FREE IN ORDER TO PROMOTE A RECORDING THAT WOULD BE COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE IN THE NEAR FUTURE. "PROMO" RECORDS WERE SENT DIRECTLY TO BROADCASTERS, SUCH AS RADIO STATION DISC JOCKEYS, AND AT TIMES, MUSIC JOURNALISTS IN ADVANCE OF THE RELEASE OF COMMERCIAL "STOCK COPY" ISSUES, IN THE HOPE THAT AIRPLAY, REVIEWS, AND OTHER FORMS OF EXPOSURE WILL RESULT AND STIMULATE THE PUBLIC'S INTEREST IN THE COMMERCIAL RELEASE.

BECAUSE PROMOTIONAL RECORDS WERE PRODUCED IN SMALLER QUANTITY THAN RELEASES THAT WERE MADE AVAILABLE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC, THEY ARE CONSIDERED EXTREMELY VALUABLE, FOR THEY WERE NEVER RELEASED IN RECORD STORES.

  "A HARD DAY'S NIGHT"
'SPECIAL BEATLES HALF HOUR OPEN END INTERVIEW'

PROMOTIONAL RADIO STATION LP ALBUM
COMPLETE WITH ORIGINAL 12-PAGE SCRIPT
(UA SP-2359/2360), ISSUED JULY 1964

FAB 4 COLLECTIBLES MOST PROUDLY OFFERS THE VINTAGE AND ULTRA RARE UNITED ARTISTS BEATLES ' OPEN-END ' INTERVIEW ALBUM, COMPLETE WITH THE ACCOMPANYING AND ORIGINAL 12-PAGE SCRIPT (NOT A COPY). THIS EXAMPLE IS THE BEST THAT HAS SURFACED TO DATE, AND MOST OF THOSE THAT ARE OUT THERE HAVE PHOTOCOPIES OF THE SCRIPT, AND NOT the ORIGINAL ISSUED EXAMPLE.

THESE RECORDS ARE EXTREMELY RARE FOR TWO REASONS. FIRST, THEY WERE PRESSED IN VERY LIMITED NUMBERS AND DISTRIBUTED ONLY TO SELECT RADIO STATIONS AND MOVIE THEATRES. SECOND, BECAUSE THE RECORDS WERE SOLELY INTENDED TO PROMOTE THE MOTION PICTURE, MOST DISC JOCKEYS AND THEATRE MANAGERS DID NOT SAVE THESE UNIQUE RECORDS AFTER THE FILM HAD RUN ITS COURSE.

CONDITION : (RECORD) NM- (VG+++) / (SCRIPT) NM-
ITEM#: PR335
PRICE: $5,500

  A HARD DAY’S NIGHT
UNITED ARTISTS UAL 3366 MONO
RELEASED: JUNE 26, 1964

ULTRA-RARE WHITE LABEL PROMOTIONAL
"NOT FOR SALE" SOUNDTRACK LP ALBUM

EXTREMELY RARE H.V. WADDELL PRESSING,
BURBANK, CALIFORNIA

THIS WADDELL PRESSING IS RARELY FOUND, FOR IT IS APPROXIMATELY
3 TO 1 SCARCER THAN THE PROMOTIONAL COLUMBIA PRESSING, WITH ABOUT 150 COPIES IN EXISTENCE.

FINDING THIS PROMOTIONAL ISSUE IN THIS CONDITION IS QUITE AN ACHIEVEMENT. THE LABELS ARE SO STUNNING AND THE WHITE TONE "POPS" OUT IN BRILLIANT CLARITY. THE VINYL GRADES A STELLAR AND TRUE "AS NEW" MINT MINUS AND APPEARS UNPLAYED. THE GROOVES AND ORIGINAL SHEEN ARE STILL RETAINED IN ALL IT'S ORIGINAL "FACTORY FRESH" STATE.

ACCOMPANIED BY ITS NEAR MINT AND CORRECT "3 LINE" PUBLISHING COVER.

CONDITION: NM / M-
ITEM#: PR310
PRICE: $9,000

  A HARD DAY’S NIGHT
UNITED ARTISTS UAL 3366 MONO
RELEASED: JUNE 26, 1964

ULTRA-RARE WHITE LABEL PROMOTIONAL
"NOT FOR SALE" SOUNDTRACK LP ALBUM

COLUMBIA RECORDS PRESSING,
PITMAN, NEW JERSEY OR BRIDGEPORT, CONNECTICUT

THIS PROMOTIONAL RECORD IS EXTREMELY RARE FOR THREE REASONS. FIRST, IT IS BELIEVED THAT LESS THAN 500 COPIES OF THE PROMOTIONAL SOUNDTRACK ALBUM WERE PRESSED AND DISTRIBUTED ONLY TO SELECTED RADIO STATIONS. SECOND REASON IS BECAUSE THE RECORDS WERE SOLELY INTENDED TO PROMOTE THE MOTION PICTURE, MOST DISC JOCKEYS DID NOT SAVE THESE RECORDS AFTER THE FILM HAD RUN ITS COURSE. LASTLY, THIS IS THE ONLY ORIGINALLY RELEASED BEATLES ALBUM THAT WAS PRODUCED AS A PROMOTIONAL "NOT FOR SALE" LABEL, FOR VEE-JAY OR CAPITOL RECORDS NEVER DID.

THE RECORD IS IN MINT MINUS CONDITION, AN AMAZING EXAMPLE AND ACCOMPANIED BY ITS NEAR MINT AND CORRECT "3 LINE" PUBLISHING COVER.
