THE BEATLES GAVE A MATINEE AND EVENING PERFORMANCE AT THE COW PALACE IN SAN FRANCISCO ON AUGUST 31, 1965 - THE TENTH AND FINAL STOP ON THEIR 1965 WHIRLWIND NORTH AMERICA "SUMMER" TOUR, PHOTOS FROM WHICH ARE PICTURED BELOW.

OFFERED HERE IS A STUNNING NEAR MINT FULL, UNUSED TICKET FROM THE DAY'S FIRST SHOW, SEEN BY AN AUDIENCE OF 11,700. THE 3 1/2" X 1 1/2" TICKET IS THE "HOT PINK" LEFT RESERVED $6.00 SEAT VARIATION, SECTION 109, ROW D, SEAT 6. THIS IS INDEED ONE OF THE RAREST CONCERT TICKET VENUES TO FIND IN IT'S FULL UNUSED STATE.

THE BACK HAS "TICKET" INK STAMPED NEAR THE CENTER.

AN ADDED BONUS IS THE INCLUSION OF THE TICKET'S ORIGINAL ACCOMPANYING COW PALACE 4 3/4" X 2 3/4" ENVELOPE IN NEAR MINT MINUS CONDITION.

THE GROUP HAD PREVIOUSLY PERFORMED AT THIS VENUE ON AUGUST 19, 1964, THE FIRST DATE OF THEIR FIRST U.S. TOUR. THIS TIME AROUND IN 1965, THE BEATLES PERFORMED THEIR STANDARD SET OF 12 SONGS AT THE CONCERTS.

THE SHORTER VERSION OF "TWIST AND SHOUT", FOLLOWED BY "SHE'S A WOMAN", "I FEEL FINE", "DIZZY MISS LIZZIE", "TICKET TO RIDE", "EVERYBODY'S TRYING TO BE MY BABY", "CAN'T BUY ME LOVE", "BABY'S IN BLACK", "I WANNA BE YOUR MAN", "A HARD DAY'S NIGHT", "HELP!" AND CLOSING WITH "I'M DOWN". THE OTHER ACTS ON THE BILL WERE, IN ORDER OF APPEARANCE WERE KING CURTIS BAND, SOUNDS INCORPORATED AND THE DISCOTHEQUE DANCERS, BRENDA HOLLOWAY, AND CANNIBAL & THE HEADHUNTERS. A PRESS CONFERENCE WAS HELD AT COW PALACE BETWEEN THE MATINEE AND EVENING CONCERTS AND THE LADS WERE ALSO VISITED BACKSTAGE BY JOHNNY CASH AND JOAN BAEZ.

DURING THE SECOND SHOW A GROUP OF FANS BROKE THROUGH THE BARRIERS AND RUSHED THE STAGE, FORCING THE BEATLES TO WAIT BACKSTAGE WHILE ORDER WAS RESTORED.

AFTER THIS TOUR'S CONCLUSION, THE BEATLES, WHO HAD BEEN TOURING, RECORDING AND PROMOTING NON-STOP FOR THREE YEARS, TOOK A SIX-WEEK BREAK BEFORE RECONVENING AT EMI STUDIOS ON OCTOBER 12TH TO BEGIN RECORDING SESSIONS FOR THEIR NEW ALBUM "RUBBER SOUL".
