DESCRIPTION (ACTUAL SCANS) RIGHT FROM THE MOMENT THAT THEIR PAN AM FLIGHT TOUCHED DOWN AT JOHN F. KENNEDY INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT IN NEW YORK ON FEBRUARY 7, THE BEATLES WERE SUBJECTED TO EVERY FORM OF MEDIA EXPOSURE KNOWN IN 1964 : JOURNALISTS, PHOTOGRAPHERS, RADIO STATIONS AND TV NEWS CREWS COVERED THEIR EVERY SINGLE MOVE, MANY WITH LIVE REPORTS. HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE WERE CLAMORING, CONSTANTLY, FOR THEIR ATTENTION IF ONLY FOR A FEW SECONDS, IN PERSON, BY PHONE, BY ANY MEANS IMAGINABLE. FOLLOWING THEIR HISTORICAL SMASH LIVE DEBUT ON THE ED SULLIVAN SHOW ON FEBRUARY 9, THE MONUMENTAL CONCERT IN WASHINGTON D.C. ON THE 11TH, FOLLOWED UP BY THEIR PERFORMANCE AT THE FAMED CARNEGIE HALL ON THE 12TH, THE BEATLES FLEW TO FLORIDA FOR SOME VACATION TIME AND TO APPEAR AGAIN ON THE ED SULLIVAN SHOW - THIS TIME BROADCAST LIVE FROM THE DEAUVILLE HOTEL IN MIAMI BEACH ON SUNDAY FEBRUARY 16TH. THE 16TH STARTED WITH A MORNING CAMERA REHEARSAL, AND THEN SHORTLY AFTER 1:30 PM, LUCKY TICKET HOLDERS FILED INTO THE HOTEL'S NAPOLEON ROOM FOR THE SHOW'S DRESS REHEARSAL. THE GROUP PERFORMED SIX SONGS IN TWO SEGMENTS : SHE LOVES YOU, THIS BOY, ALL MY LOVING, I SAW HER STANDING THERE, FROM ME TO YOU, AND CLOSING WITH I WANT TO HOLD YOUR HAND. THE REHEARSAL WAS TAPED BUT NOT BROADCAST BY CBS. THE TAPE SURVIVES, A PORTION OF WHICH CAN BE SEEN IN "THE BEATLES ANTHOLOGY" DVD - AND IT'S ONE THAT STANDS OUT : DURING PAUL'S INTRODUCTION TO THE FINAL NUMBER THE CROWD KEPT SCREAMING, CAUSING JOHN TO SAY "SHUT UP WHILE HE'S TALKING!". AFTER THE SONG ENDED, THE BEATLES THEN HEADED BACK TO THEIR ROOMS TO RELAX AND PREPARE FOR THE EVENING'S LIVE BROADCAST. FAB 4 COLLECTIBLES IS EXTREMELY PROUD TO OFFER THIS INCREDIBLY RARE COMPLETE FULL TICKET TO THE BEATLES' ED SULLIVAN SHOW 2:30 DRESS REHEARSAL APPEARANCE AND PERFORMANCE FROM THE DEAUVILLE HOTEL IN MIAMI ON FEBRUARY 16, 1964. THESE TICKETS ARE AMONG THE RAREST OF ALL BEATLES CONCERT TICKETS IN EXISTENCE. THE MAJORITY OF THESE TICKETS FROM THIS EVENT WERE DISCARDED OR LOST OVER THESE PAST 46 YEARS. FURTHERMORE, THE SUPREME FACTOR THAT MAKES THIS FULL TICKET SO VERY SPECIAL IS THAT IT IS A PERFORMANCE ON THE ED SULLIVAN SHOW DURING THEIR FIRST U.S. VISIT - AN EVENT ETCHED IN BEATLES HISTORY AND AMERICAN TELEVISION. THE ONLY OTHER TICKET THAT TOPS THIS EXAMPLE IS FROM THE FIRST HISTORICAL SULLIVAN PROGRAM ONE WEEK PRIOR ON FEBRUARY 9TH. ONLY ONE UNUSED TICKET IS KNOWN FROM THAT SHOW, AND IT WAS FORMERLY THE PROPERTY OF WALTER CRONKITE'S DAUGHTER. MEASURING 4" X 1¾", THE DEEP BLUE TICKET IS IN BEAUTIFUL CONDITION, HAVING BEEN CAREFULLY STORED FOR ITS 46 YEARS, GRADING A VERY GOOD +++ TO NEAR MINT MINUS. THE TICKET HAS VERY MINIMAL HANDLING WEAR AND DOES NOT HAVE ANY TEARS, STAINS, FOLDS OR CREASES. THE LINES EVIDENT ON THE BACK ARE NOT CREASES, BUT SIMPLY THE DEEP IMPRESSIONS OF THE IMPRINT OF THE HORIZONTAL PRINTED LINES FROM THE FRONT SIDE. THE TICKET BEARS WRITING ON THE FRONT AND BACK THAT IS PERTINENT TO THE EVENT. THE FAN WHO ATTENDED THE SHOW AND FROM WHOM WE HAVE ACQUIRED THE TICKET, SCRIPTED THE NAMES OF THREE MAIN ACTS FROM THIS SHOW. THE BEATLES, MITZI GAYNOR, AND ALLEN & ROSSI. THE NAMES ARE IN AREAS OF THE TICKET THAT DOES NOT DETER FROM ANY OF THE PRINTED INFORMATION OR DETRACTS FROM THE OVERALL APPEARANCE. "THE BEATLES" NAME IS NOT PRINTED ON THE TICKET, FOR ALL OF THE ED SULLIVAN CBS TELEVISION TICKETS FOR ANY OF THE PROGRAMS THAT THE BEATLES APPEARED, ARE VERIFIED SOLELY BY THE DATE, VENUE, AND TIME SHOWN ON THE TICKET. ACCOMPANIED BY A LETTER OF AUTHENTICITY FROM RENOWNED BEATLES EXPERT AND AUTHOR PERRY COX. ALSO INCLUDES A LETTER OF PROVENANCE FROM THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THE TICKET WHO ATTENDED THIS SHOW. HER SIGNATURE AND NAME HAS BEEN OMITTED FROM THE IMAGE FOR PRIVACY. |
