DESCRIPTION (ACTUAL SCANS) THE BEATLES’ MOST MOMENTOUS LIVE PERFORMANCE TOOK PLACE AT SHEA STADIUM, THE HOME OF THE NEW YORK METS BASEBALL TEAM. SEEN BY 55,600 FANS, IT CREATED A NEW WORLD RECORD FOR A POP CONCERT IN TERMS OF ATTENDANCE AND GROSS REVENUE. THE BEATLES’ SHARE OF THE $304,000 BOX OFFICE TAKINGS WAS ALSO A RECORD - $160,000. THE GROUP TRAVELED BY LIMOUSINE FROM THE WARWICK HOTEL TO A WATERFRONT HELIPORT, FLEW FROM THERE OVER NEW YORK CITY TO THE ROOF OF THE WORLD’S FAIR BUILDING AND MADE THE FINAL 100-YARD JOURNEY INTO SHEA STADIUM IN A WELLS FARGO ARMORED TRUCK. THEY SPRINTED THROUGH A TUNNEL, OUT INTO A DEAFENING WALL OF SCREAMS AND ONTO THE STAGE POSITIONED AT SECOND BASE AT 9:16PM. THE OPENING SUPPORTING ACTS IN ORDER OF APPEARANCE WERE BRENDA HOLLOWAY AND THE KING CURTIS BAND, CANNIBAL & THE HEADHUNTERS, SOUNDS INCORPORATED, AND THE YOUNG RASCALS. FROM THIS INFAMOUS VERY FIRST BEATLES' OPEN-AIR STADIUM SOLD-OUT SHOW, WE ARE PROUD TO OFFER NOT JUST ONE, BUT FOUR 1965 SHEA STADIUM FULL, UNUSED CONCERT TICKETS IN CONSECUTIVE SEATING ORDER. THESE "FIELD LEVEL BOX" TICKETS ARE YELLOW IN COLOR, WITH THE FAMOUS BLUE PRINT INCLUDING THE BEATLES GRAPHIC PHOTO. FIELD LEVEL BOX : BOX 28J, SEATS 1 THROUGH 4, $5.65 PRICE LOCATION, ENTER GATE B. EACH FULL TICKET MEASURES 6" X 1¾", AND ARE IN NEAR MINT, NEARLY PRISTINE UNUSED CONDITION. THEY REMAIN STIFF AND FIRM. NO BENDS, NO CREASES, NO FADING. THIS EVENT HAS BECOME ACKNOWLEDGED AS THE BEATLES' MOST FAMOUS CONCERT - AND THESE TICKETS HAVE REMAINED IN MOST BEAUTIFUL CONDITION. FOR THE ULTIMATE IN PRESENTATION AND PRESERVATION, WE FIRST HAVE SLID THE FOUR TICKETS FREELY INTO AN ACID-FREE 4 MIL THICK MYLAR 45RPM 7½" X 7¾" RECORD SLEEVE, WHICH WAS THEN SECURED INTO AN CRYSTAL CLEAR ULTRA-PRO® ½" THICK LUCITE 8" X 10" SCREWDOWN BEVELED FRAME. ALSO INCLUDES IT'S MATCHING ACRYLIC DISPLAY STAND WHICH WILL SUPPORT THE FRAMED TICKETS FOR YOUR SHOWCASE PURPOSES. ALSO INCLUDED WITH THE FOUR FULL TICKETS ARE AN ARRAY OF ORIGINAL EPHEMERA FROM THE HISTORIC 1965 SHEA CONCERT. FIRST UP IS THE VERY RARE ORIGINAL 6½" X 8½" FLYER/LETTER ISSUED TO TICKET HOLDERS. PRINTED ON BOTH SIDES, ONE SIDE IS A NOTE FROM SHOW PROMOTER, SID BERNSTEIN ABOUT THE HEAVY REACTION BY FANS FOR TICKETS ALONG WITH UPCOMING SHOWS AT THE VENUE. THE REVERSE SIDE IS AN ORDER FORM WITH BEATLES PICTURES FOR THE TOUR PROGRAM. BEARING SOME PROPER AGING, THE CONDITION IS VG+++ TO NEAR MINT MINUS WITH TWO HORIZONTAL ORIGINAL FOLDS FOR INSERTION WITH THE TICKETS IN THE ENVELOPE. ALSO INCLUDED IS THE ORIGINAL 7½" X 4" MAILING AND DATED ENVELOPE, POSTMARKED JULY 24, 1965. IT IS IN VG+ CONDITION WITH A TEAR ON THE REVERSE FLAP. NEXT UP IS AN EXCEPTIONALLY RARE "ROLLING STONES" HAND OUT CARD ANNOUNCING THEIR UPCOMING NOVEMBER 6, 1965 CONCERT AT SHEA STADIUM. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME WE HAVE SEEN THIS 3 1/2" X 2 3/4" CARD, WHICH IS PRINTED ON ONE SIDE ONLY. IT ALSO READS "THE RASCALS ARE COMING" AT THE BOTTOM. THIS IS AN MOST INCREDIBLE ITEM AND THE "WELCOME" TEXT ON THE CARD SUGGESTS IT WAS HANDED OUT AS THE PATRON ENTERED SHEA STADIUM FOR THE BEATLES SHOW. THE CONDITION OF THE CARD IS NEAR MINT. ALSO INCLUDES A 3 1/2" X 3" NEW YORK NEWSPAPER CLIPPING ADVERTISING THE SHOW. 1965 SHEA STADIUM TICKETS IN FULL, UNUSED CONDITION ARE SO VERY DIFFICULT TO ACQUIRE DUE TO THE CONCERT'S SOLD OUT STATUS. OUR INQUIRIES REVEAL THAT JUST OVER A DOZEN UNUSED SHEA 1965 TICKETS HAVE APPEARED IN THE MARKETPLACE. THIS IS THE VERY FIRST TIME EVER THAT FOUR CONSECUTIVE SEATS HAVE SURFACED - AND TO HAVE THEM ACCOMPANIED BY A COLLECTION OF ORIGINAL AND RARE CONCERT DOCUMENTS MAKES THIS PACKAGE AS COMPLETE AS ONE CAN HOPE FOR.
