DESCRIPTION (ACTUAL SCANS) ON FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 18, THE BEATLES PLAYED THEIR FINAL "PAYING" VENUE FOR THEIR 1964 NORTH AMERICAN TOUR IN TEXAS AT THE DALLAS MEMORIAL AUDITORIUM. IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE CONCERT, THEY FLEW TO A RANCH IN MISSOURI where they enjoyed a short break from the GRUELING PACE. EARLY IN THE MORNING OF THE 20TH, 200 people descended on a small Walnut Ridge Regional Airport in Arkansas, in anticipation of The Beatles' return, since the group had switched planes there the previous day. The aircraft they had arrived in waited on the runway, and a number of photographs and home videos were made by local residents. A local crop duster craft was mobbed after teenagers mistook it for The Beatles' plane. Unbeknown to them, Paul and George had arrived an hour before, and watched the event from a truck parked near the runway. John and Ringo arrived on a small commuter aircraft, AND As they disembarked they were surrounded by excited fans. They were joined by PAUL and GEORGE, and all quickly boarded A PRIVATE plane for New York. THE BEATLES WERE HEADED FOR THE
HERALDED PARAMOUNT THEATRE, IN TIMES SQUARE, NEW YORK CITY, WHERE TheY
WOULD perform for no fee at A charity concert in aid of the United Cerebral
Palsy of New York City and Retarded Infants Services. TITLED "AN EVENING WITH
THE BEATLES", THIS SHOW ROUNDED OFF THE GROUP'S EXHAUSTING FIRST FULL NORTH
AMERICAN TOUR - their only U.S. benefit show of their THREE tours OF
1964, '65 AND '66. Tickets for the concert had each been sold for $50 and $100 to a combination of young fans and New York's wealthy elite. 380 OF THE $50 seats were sold and 225 more went for THE $100.00 SEATS. In all, the concert raised $75,000 WITH 3,682 people in attendance. Ed Sullivan paid a backstage visit to The Beatles, and Gloria Steinem was reporting for Cosmopolitan magazine. THE GROUP FLEW BACK TO ENGLAND ON THE 21ST, ARRIVING AT LONDON AIRPORT AT 9:35PM. WITH THEIR REMARKABLE NORTH AMERICAN JAUNT NOW PAST BUT A BRITISH CONCERT TOUR JUST AROUND THE CORNER, THE BEATLES QUICKLY RETURNED THEIR ATTENTION TO RECORDING, AND THE COMPLETION OF "BEATLES FOR SALE", THEIR SECOND ALBUM OF 1964. FAB 4 COLLECTIBLES IS VERY PLEASED TO OFFER THE EXCEEDINGLY SCARCE "AN EVENING WITH THE BEATLES" CUSTOM CONCERT PROGRAM FROM THIS EVENT, ONE THAT IS among the rarest IN EXISTENCE OF ALL BEATLES CONCERT PROGRAMS. MEASURING 10" X 6", THIS FOLDED, FOUR PAGE PROGRAM IS PRINTED ON NICELY TEXTURED WHITE THIN CARDBOARD. GRADED IN VERY RESPECTABLE VG+ CONDITION, IT DISPLAYS VERY MINIMAL AGING, AND SOME DRY TAPE STAINS. ALSO HAS A SMALL CLEAN SET OF STAPLE HOLES ON FRONT TOP, WHICH ARE BARELY PERCEPTIBLE.
