  DESCRIPTION
(ACTUAL IMAGES)

ALTHOUGH "THE EARLY BEATLES" LP ALBUM SOLD REASONABLY WELL CONSIDERING IT CONTAINED NO NEW SONGS, CAPITOL REALIZED IT NEEDED NEW BEATLES PRODUCT TO MAINTAIN CONSUMER INTEREST. AS THE SOUNDTRACK ALBUM FOR THE SECOND BEATLES FILM "HELP!", WAS NOT SCHEDULED FOR RELEASE UNTIL MID-AUGUST, THE SUMMER OF 1965 LOOKED BLEAK UNLESS CAPITOL COULD HASTILY ASSEMBLE AND ISSUE A NEW BEATLES ALBUM.

THE DECISION TO CREATE CAPITOL'S SIXTH LP OF BEATLES MUSIC WAS PROBABLY MADE IN EARLY MAY 1965. THE RECORD COMPANY PROMOTED IT AS  CAPITOL'S INVENTORY OF "PREVIOUSLY UNRELEASED IN AMERICA" -  "FOUR NEW SONGS NEVER AVAILABLE BEFORE!", AND "FOUR MORE NEW SONGS - NEVER AVAILABLE IN AMERICA", AND FINALLY,  "THREE BEATLES CLASSICS "EIGHT DAYS A WEEK", "YES IT IS" AND "i DON'T WANT TO SPOIL THE PARTY".

THIS MOST SPLENDID FACTORY SEALED STEREO PRESSING OF "BEATLES VI" IS A TRUE WINNER, AND HAS THE REVISED BACK COVER SLICK WITH THE TRACK LISTING IN CORRECT ORDER. THE FIRST VARIATION BACK COVER (BOTH MONO AND STEREO) HAS BACK LINERS THAT WERE PRINTED PRIOR TO CAPITOL DETERMINING THE RUNNING ORDER OF THE SONGS. SHORTLY THEREAFTER THE BACK LINERS WERE REVISED TO REFLECT THE SONGS IN CORRECT ORDER. BOTH VARIATIONS OF MONO AND STEREO COVERS WERE USED WHEN THE ALBUM WAS INITIALLY RELEASED ON JUNE 14, 1965.

THE VERY IMPORTANT "STEREO NEEDLE DAMAGE" INFO DISCLAIMER PRINT IS EVIDENT IN THE TOP PORTION OF THE BACK COVER, SIGNIFYING THIS AS A TRUE FIRST PRESSING. THE CAPITOL RECORDS OLIVE GREEN INNER DUST SLEEVE (SUMMER TO LATE 1965 ISSUE) IS BARELY VISIBLE THROUGH THE TIGHT MOUTH OPENING. THERE ARE 3 FACTORY SHRINK "BREATH HOLES" EVIDENT (1 ON FRONT, 2 ON BACK). THE COVER HAS AN EXTREMELY TIGHT SEAL. THE MOUTH OPENING IS SEALED TIGHTLY WITH NO BREAKS AT ALL.  THE ORIGINAL 1¾" X 1¾"  YELLOW "STEREO" 'SEARS ROEBUCK & CO'. PRICE STICKER REMAINS ADHERED TO THE FRONT COVER SHRINK IN THE UPPER RIGHT CORNER.

THERE IS NO FACTORY NUMBER DESIGNATION ON THE BACK COVER IN  LOWER RIGHT CORNER, INDICATING THAT THIS COULD POSSIBLY BE A RARER CONTRACT PRESSING MANUFACTURED BY DECCA, ,RCA OR COLUMBIA RECORDS. ONLY MINOR FLAW IS A SLIGHT AND SOFT CREASE TO THE LOWER RIGHT CORNER OF THE COVER. OTHERWISE, A MOST BEAUTIFUL SEALED RARER STEREO EXAMPLE OF THIS JUNE 1965 RELEASE, WITH GORGEOUS GRAPHICS AND ALL WHITE AREAS ARE BRIGHT.

STEREO COPIES OF BEATLES ALBUMS MANUFACTURED PRIOR TO 1966 ARE SIGNIFICANTLY RARER THAN THEIR MONO COUNTERPARTS. IT'S ESTIMATED THAT ONLY FIFTEEN PERCENT OF CAPITOL'S BEATLES ALBUMS MANUFACTURED PRIOR TO 1966 WERE STEREO.
