GEORGE MARTIN AND HIS ORCHESTRA
UNITED ARTISTS UA-745
RELEASED: JUNE / JULY 1964
PICTURE SLEEVE & ACCOMPANYING WHITE LABEL PROMOTIONAL 45 SINGLE

(ACTUAL SCANS)

ALTHOUGH UNITED ARTISTS WAS NOT ALLOWED TO ISSUE BEATLES SONGS FROM THE SOUNDTRACK LP IN THE SINGLES FORMAT, THE LABEL DID RELEASE THE FOUR GEORGE MARTIN INSTRUMENTALS ON 45S.

THE FIRST SINGLE PULLED FROM THE ALBUM WAS (UA745), AND UA PREPARED A TERRIFIC PICTURE SLEEVE FOR THE RECORD. THE FRONT OF THE SLEEVE IS SIMILAR TO THE FRONT COVER OF THE SOUNDTRACK LP. IT HAS THE SAME FOUR PICTURES OF THE BOYS AND A RED BACKGROUND AREA AT THE TOP OF WITH TEXT AND GRAPHICS IN BLACK AND WHITE.

THE BACK OF THE SLEEVE FEATURES NINE OF THE FIFTEEN BLACK AND WHITE PHOTOS FROM THE BACK OF THE ALBUM.

THE FIRST UA PICTURE SLEEVE KNOWN AS THE "RED" SLEEVE, (LIKE IT'S "AIRPORT BLUE" COUNTERPART UA750, SEE BELOW) IS NOTORIOUSLY KNOWN FOR IT'S SUSCEPTIBILITY TO RINGWEAR. THIS ONE IS AN ABSOLUTELY STUNNING NEAR MINT - AND IS MOST DEFINITELY THE BEST EXAMPLE FOR THIS TITLE WE'VE ACQUIRED.  NO RINGWEAR OR RECORD IMPRESSION ANYWHERE. TWO MINOR ISSUES IS A BIT OF HANDLING WEAR AT THE TOP EDGE, AND A  VERY SOFT DIAGONAL CREASE NEAR THE BOTTOM RIGHT CORNER.  THE EDGES REMAIN SHARP AND STRAIGHT. NO SPLITS OR TEARS. THE WHITE BORDERS ON THE BACK SIDE ARE CLEAN AND BRIGHT.

THE SLEEVE IS ACCOMPANIED BY ITS ORIGINAL UA745 WHITE LABEL "NOT FOR SALE" PROMOTIONAL 45 IN GLORIOUS MINT MINUS UNPLAYED CONDITION. THIS RECORD IS A TERRE HAUTE PRESSING (UA745.DJ1B, SPIZER).
