ORIGINAL BRITISH PARLOPHONE RELEASES
"ABBEY ROAD" |
||
DESCRIPTION (ACTUAL IMAGES) ALTHOUGH ABBEY ROAD WAS NOT THE LAST ALBUM OF NEW SONGS RELEASED BY THE BEATLES, IT WAS THE LAST ALBUM RECORDED BY THE GROUP. THE RECORD WAS ISSUED BY PARLOPHONE AS APPLE PCS 7088 ON SEPTEMBER 26, 1969. THE LP WAS THE FIRST BEATLES ALBUM SOLD IN THE U.K. ONLY IN THE STEREO FORMAT. THE ALBUM THAT WOULD EVOLVE INTO ABBEY ROAD STARTED AS A CONTINUATION OF THE "GET BACK" SESSIONS, INCORPORATING SOME OF THE SONGS REHEARSED AT TWICKENHAM FILM STUDIOS; HOWEVER, IT WAS RECORDED ENTIRELY DIFFERENT AND LESS STRESSFUL CONDITIONS. This STUPENDOUS ORIGINAL BRITISH VERY FIRST pressing dates FROM September 1969 WITH the dark green Apple, AND The side 2 label omits the title "Her Majesty" from its track-listing. THE RECORD IS Housed in THE fully laminated 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed cover. THIS COVER IS THE ULTRA-RARE FIRST VARIATION WITH The Apple LOGO 'LEFT misaligned' beneath the side 1 track-listing on the rear panel. THE LATER CORRECTED COVER HAS THE APPLE LOGO SHIFTED RIGHT DIRECTLY UNDER THE TRACK-LISTING. THE Cover IS A STUNNING NEAR MINT
DISPLAYING a clean, high-gloss laminate all around bearing just a hint of
storage but no 'thumbnail' wrinkles front or rear. There is a small shelf wear
bruise to the left corner but the others and both opening edges are perfect.
Both seams are smooth, unstressed and the spine is fully laminated and worded. THE SET IS ACCOMPANIED BY
THE NEAR MINT ORIGINAL 1969 EMI PROTECTIVE GENERIC WHITE INNER DUST SLEEVE WITH THE PATENT
NUMBER INFORMATION AND "MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN" AT THE BOTTOM.
