DESCRIPTION (ACTUAL IMAGES) MORE THAN FIFTEEN MONTHS AFTER THE CONCLUSION OF THE "GET BACK" RECORDING SESSIONS, AN ALBUM CONTAINING RECORDINGS FROM THE JANUARY 1969 APPLE BASEMENT AND ROOFTOP SESSIONS WAS FINALLY RELEASED ON MAY 8, 1970. BY THIS TIME, THE "GET BACK" SINGLE WAS A YEAR OLD, SO BOTH THE ALBUM AND THE FILM WERE RENAMED "LET IT BE" AFTER THE GROUP'S LATEST HIT SINGLE. RELEASED BY PARLOPHONE, THE ALBUM (APPLE PCS 7096) WAS PACKAGED IN A BOX (APPLE PXS 1) ALONG WITH A 164-PAGE BOOK CONTAINING PHOTOGRAPHS BY ETHAN A. RUSSELL AND TEXT by Jonathan Cott AND David Dalton, FEATURING SELECTED DIALOG FROM THE RECORDING SESSIONS AND FILM. THE ALBUM'S ELABORATE PACKAGING NECESSITATED A HIGH LIST PRICE THAT WAS JUST UNDER THREE POUNDS. The 'PXS 1' catalOG number did not appear anywhere on the package but was for ordering purposes only. SIX MONTHS LATER, "LET IT BE" WAS ISSUED AS A STANDARD ALBUM WITHOUT THE BOX AND BOOK (AND PRICED ACCORDINGLY) ON NOVEMBER 6, 1970. FAB 4 COLLECTIBLES PROUDLY OFFERS THIS ORIGINAL FIRST PRESSING MAY 8, 1970 RELEASE OF THE UK "LET IT BE" BOX SET, TOTALLY COMPLETE WITH ITS 100% GENUINE, ORIGINAL CONTENTS AND COMPONENTS: ● FULLY LAMINATED OUTER SLIPCASE BOX. THE FULLY LAMINATED OUTER SLIPCASE BOX, MANUFACTURED BY 'GARROD & LOFTHOUSE LTD.' is A SUPERB, clean, glossy VG++ and has held its shape with with no crushing to either upper or lower ends. The front panel has a superb unscratched high-glosS finish with with a two wrinkles towards the lower right corner only and a light one along upper edge. All of the exposed edges are genuinely clean AND sharp with no tears or feathering. The rear is just aS SOLID, bearing just a singe 'thumbnail' wrinkle on one side. THE Outer INNER Tray GRADES A SOLID VG++. This fragile INNER component is presented here in VERY respectable shape. It is intact with the usual soft wrinkling on the flaps but no tears or major signs of wear. THE Inner/Book Holding Tray IS A GREAT NEAR MINT, A fine complete AND original example with all four corners fully intact. THE GORGEOUS 164-PAGE ORIGINAL BOOK IS A TREMENDOUS MINT MINUS example of this lavish publication with a pristine front and rear panels with no creasing or thumbnails front or rear. The spine is in great shape and there are no loose or missing pages, This copy has printed credits on page 8. THE BINDING REMAINS STIFF AND "AS NEW". THE INSERTED FULLY LAMINATED LP ALBUM COVER, MANUFACTURED BY 'GARROD & LOFTHOUSE LTD.' HAS THE RED APPLE LOGO ON THE REAR PANEL, SIGNIFYING THE VERY FIRST PRESSING OF THIS RELEASE (LATER ISSUE HAS THE GREEN APPLE). THIS MINT MINUS COVER IS A superb clean AND strong example which retains a pristine high-gloss laminate front AND rear with no 'thumbnails or any other such wear. All corners and opening edges are sharp and undamaged and both seams and the spine are unstressed fully intact. THE SHIMMERING AND STUPENDOUS MINT MINUS RECORD IS MARVELOUS, WITH UNPLAYED
"AS NEW" Factory-fresh playing surfaces bearing just a few wispy marks from the
inner SLEEVE, EXAMINED directly beneath halogen light SOURCE. THE Labels ARE
ABSOLUTELY MINT, A THIS FULLY COMPLETE EXAMPLE IS TRULY MAGNIFICENT, AND ONE OF THE BEST WE HAVE
