DESCRIPTION (ACTUAL IMAGES) ALTHOUGH ABBEY ROAD WAS NOT THE LAST ALBUM OF NEW SONGS RELEASED BY THE BEATLES, IT WAS THE LAST ALBUM RECORDED BY THE GROUP. THE RECORD WAS ISSUED BY PARLOPHONE AS APPLE PCS 7088 ON SEPTEMBER 26, 1969. THE LP WAS THE FIRST BEATLES ALBUM SOLD IN THE U.K. ONLY IN THE STEREO FORMAT. THE ALBUM THAT WOULD EVOLVE INTO ABBEY ROAD STARTED AS A CONTINUATION OF THE GET BACK SESSIONS, INCORPORATING SOME OF THE SONGS REHEARSED AT TWICKENHAM FILM STUDIOS; HOWEVER, IT WAS RECORDED ENTIRELY DIFFERENT AND LESS STRESSFUL CONDITIONS. OFFERED HERE IS A MOST STUNNING ORIGINAL PRESSING OF ABBEY ROAD. THE LAMINATED COVER WAS PRINTED AND MANUFACTURED BY GARROD & LOFTHOUSE AND HAS INTERIOR FLAPS. THIS PARTICULAR COVER HAS THE GREEN APPLE LOGO ON THE BACK COVER IN THE CORRECTED POSITION, WHICH IS ALIGNED WITH THE PRINTED TEXT (APP 7088.SC2A, SPIZER). THE INITIAL COVERS HAD THE APPLE LOGO OUT OF ALIGNMENT AND SHIFTED TO THE LEFT. THE CONDITION OF THE COVER IS A MAJESTIC NEAR MINT, AND ONE WOULD BE HARD PRESSED TO FIND A BETTER EXAMPLE. SHARP CORNERS, PERFECT SPINE, AND NO WEAR TO SPEAK OF. ABSOLUTELY MARVELOUS. THE ACCOMPANYING RECORD HAS THE DARK GREEN APPLE LABELS WITH THE SCRIPT PERIMETER PRINT. THIS IS THE REVISED LABEL WITH "HER MAJESTY" ADDED AND LISTED AS THE LAST TRACK. MOST IMPORTANTLY, THE LABELS ON THIS EXAMPLE HAS THE "33⅓" LOCATED IN THE INDENTED CENTERED POSITION BELOW "AN E.M.I. RECORDING" PRINT ON BOTH SIDES OF THE LABELS (THE STANDARD LABELS HAS "33⅓" ALIGNED TO THE LEFT). FURTHERMORE, THERE IS A SMALL SPACE BETWEEN "MFD. IN THE U.K." AND THE "SIDE" 1 AND 2 DESIGNATIONS. THESE LABELS ARE THE RAREST VARIATION OF ABBEY ROAD (APP7088.SR2A(iii), SPIZER). THE CONDITION OF THE RECORD AND LABELS ARE A BRILLIANT SHIMMERING NEAR MINT, AND APPEARS IT WAS PLAYED ONCE THEN STORED AWAY. AGAIN, IT WOULD BE DIFFICULT TO FIND A BETTER EXAMPLE. THE TRAIL OFF STAMPINGS ARE: SIDE ONE: "YEX 749-2" AND "6" AND "PDR". SIDE 2: "YEX 750-1" AND "4" AND "0DR". ACCOMPANIED BY THE ORIGINAL 1969 EMI PROTECTIVE GENERIC WHITE INNER SLEEVE WITH THE PATENT NUMBER INFORMATION AND "MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN" AT THE BOTTOM.
