ORIGINAL BRITISH PARLOPHONE RELEASES THE CAPITOL RECORDS EXPORT ALBUMS
"BEATLES VI" |
||
DESCRIPTION (ACTUAL IMAGES) EMI EXPORTED ITS RECORDS TO COUNTRIES AND TERRITORIES THAT HAD LIMITED MANUFACTURING CAPACITY. IN ADDITION, THE COMPANY SENT DISCS TO BRITISH AND AMERICAN MILITARY BASES THROUGHOUT THE WORLD AND A FEW OTHER OUTLETS. DURING 1965 AND 1966, EMI MANUFACTURED THREE OF THE UNIQUE AMERICAN CAPITOL RECORDS ALBUMS FOR SALE AT U.S. BASES. THESE ALBUMS WERE SOLD AT THE PX, A MILITARY POST STORE WHERE GOODS ARE SOLD TO SERVICEMAN AT REDUCED PRICES. THESE ALBUMS WERE NOT OFFERED FOR SALE FOR BEATLES FANS IN THE UNITED KINGDOM AT ALL. THE THREE CAPITOL TITLES CHOSEN TO BE ISSUED WERE "SOMETHING NEW" (ISSUED BY EMI IN JULY 1965), "THE BEATLES' SECOND ALBUM" (LATE 1965), AND FINALLY "BEATLES VI" (EARLY 1966). THESE THREE EXPORT ALBUMS WERE PRODUCED IN LIMITED NUMBERS, issued only in stereo, THEREFORE MAKING THEM QUITE RARE AND VERY DIFFICULT TO ACQUIRE, ESPECIALLY IN RESPECTABLE NEAR MINT CONDITION. THE COVERS TO THESE ALBUMS WERE MANUFACTURED BY GARROD AND LOFTHOUSE AND ARE ESSENTIALLY THE SAME LAYOUT AS THE CAPITOL COVERS, BUT WITH THE PARLOPHONE AND EMI INFORMATION ADDED TO THE FRONT AND BACK, AND WITH THE STANDARD LAMINATED FRONT COVERS AND FLAT SURFACE BACKS COVERS. OFFERED HERE IS THE THIRD AND FINAL EXPORT CAPITOL ALBUM OFFERED, "BEATLES VI". THE COVER IS IN GORGEOUS NEAR MINT MINUS CONDITION WITH NO SPLITS, NO RINGWEAR, AND THE BACK COVER HAS RETAINED A BRIGHT WHITE TONE. THE RECORD IS STUNNING AS WELL WITH NEAR MINT LABELS, and the VINYL A SHIMMERING NEAR MINT MINUS BORDERing on A STRONG VG+++. IT HAS THE BLACK AND YELLOW PARLOPHONE LABELS WITH THE GRAMAPHONE PERIMETER PRINT AND WITHOUT THE "SOLD IN U.K." LINE. ALL LABEL VARIATIONS FOR THE EXPORT "BEATLES VI" ALBUM ARE MISSING THE SIDE NUMBERS. THIS PARLOPHONE LABEL VARIATION HAS THE "5" IN "P 1965" DIRECTLY UNDER THE SECOND "1" IN "(YEEX.112)", NOTED BY BRUCE SPIZER IN HIS PARLOPHONE RECORDS BOOK AS (PAREX 104.SR2A(ii). SIDE ONE MATRIX: "YEEX 112-A15". SIDE 2 MATRIX: "YEEX 113-A15". SIDE ONE STAMPERS: "1-0". SIDE 2 STAMPERS: "1-0". The RAISED "K T" tax code is stamped around the centER of the Side 2 record label. ACCOMPANIED BY THE ORIGINAL 1966 EMI PROTECTIVE GENERIC WHITE INNER SLEEVE WITH THE "PATENTS APPLIED FOR" INFORMATION AND "MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN" AT THE BOTTOM.
