(ACTUAL IMAGES)FAB 4 COLLECTIBLES PROUDLY OFFERS THE ORIGINAL 1964 TOPPS
CHEWING GUM BEATLES TRADING CARDS - THE COMPLETE COLLECTION OF ALL SIX SERIES
SETS OF THE U.S.A.. BUBBLE GUM CARDS IN OUTSTANDING NEAR MINT CONDITION. THIS IS
TRULY THE VERY BEST COMPLETE SET WE HAVE EVER OFFERED. A SET OF THIS QUALITY
LITERALLY TAKES MANY YEARS TO COMPLETE. THIS COMPLETE COLLECTION WAS AMASSED BY
A VERY LONG TIME BEATLES COLLECTOR WHO SPENT YEARS UPGRADING TO GET THE SET TO
THIS STUNNING LEVEL. THE TOPPS CHEWING GUM COMPANY PRODUCED ALL THE BEATLE TRADING CARDS (BUBBLEGUM
CARDS) IN THE UNITED STATES, WHO WERE THE MAJOR PLAYER IN BOTH SPORTS AND
NON-SPORTS CARDS IN THE 1960'S.
DEMAND WAS SO GREAT FOR THE 'BEATLES' TRADING CARDS THAT TOPPS HAD TO DELAY
PRODUCTION OF THEIR 1964 BASEBALL SET TO SATISFY ORDERS FOR THE BEATLE CARDS.
With BeatlemanIA firmly entrenched IN
FEBRUARY 1964, the demand for anything with the Fab Four was hot. To this day,
the BEATLES TOPPS TRADING CARD setS remain VERY popular with collectors.THE CARDS WERE MARKED T.C.G. WHICH STOOD FOR
"TRADING CARD GUILD". ALL CARDS MEASURE 2˝"
X 3˝". THE SIX BEATLES SERIES WERE
PRODUCED WITH DIFFERENT TOTAL CARD COUNTS TO EACH COMPLETE SERIES. THIS
MAJESTIC COMPLETE COLLECTION COMPRISES OF:
BLACK & WHITE FIRST SERIES
NUMBERED 1-60. PHOTO AND FACSIMILE AUTOGRAPH ON FRONT.
THE PRINTING ON BACK OF ALL THE CARDS ARE IN MATCHING BLUE INK (CAN ALSO BE
FOUND IN GREEN INK). The 60-card
set uses a mix of photo styles. They range from musical shots to portraits to
candid pictures of the band goofing around. Some show the entire band while
others only have individual members. As the set's title suggests, photos are
black and white. Card fronts have a small white border and a blue facsimile
signature.
BLACK & WHITE SECOND SERIES
NUMBERED 61-115. PHOTO AND FACSIMILE AUTOGRAPH ON FRONT.
THE
PRINTING ON BACK OF ALL THE CARDS ARE IN MATCHING ORANGE INK (CAN ALSO BE FOUND
IN GREEN INK). Picking up from
where the first set left off, it's a simple release that still captures the
iconic spirit of Beatlemania. The
Black and White 2nd Series checklist has 55 cards. This is down from the
previous set's 60 cards. The design holds true with a small white border giving
way to a large photo. Shots include box group pictures and photos of individual
members. While MANY show them performing, many are much more candid. Card fronts
also have a BLUE facsimile signature from one of the Fab Four.
BLACK & WHITE THIRD SERIES
NUMBERED 116-165. PHOTO AND FACSIMILE AUTOGRAPH ON FRONT.
THE PRINTING ON BACK OF ALL THE CARDS ARE IN MATCHING GREEN INK.
THE Black and White 3rd Series marks the
final installment of the simple but fun series AND THE checklist drops down to
50 cards. THE Card fronts have a blue facsimile AUTOGRAPHS.. Like the previous
two series, the images capture the spirit of the Beatles at the time.
The charm of the set comes in the photo
selection. As one might expect, there are plenty of the Beatles performing on
stage. Also expected are individual portraits. However, the most interesting
cards are those that capture the band out and about and goofing around, shaving
or just hanging out and having fun.
"A HARD DAY'S NIGHT" BEATLES MOVIE SERIES
NUMBERED 1-55. SEPIA TONE PICTURES ON FRONT
WITH SCENE DESCRIBED ON THE BACK.
THE Topps "Beatles Movie A Hard Day's Nigh" trading cards FOCUS on the GROUP'S
CLASSIC big screen debut. The 55-card set is one of seven Beatles-themed
releases that year. Although not rare, it's one of the tougher sets to put
together. Card fronts are very simple. A black and white 'SEPIA' TONED photo is
accompanied by a small white border. Images are a mix of shots from the film and
CANDID on-set photos. Unlike the FIRST three 1964 Black and White sets, THE "A
Hard Day's Night" cards do not have a facsimile signature on the front. Card
backs come with a descriptive caption. They heavily publicize the film and
roughly outline some of the movie's plot. AN OLD-STYLE MOTION PICTURE camera
graphic is in the background. The card number is set is the middle of the
camera. The bottom of the card has a bold headline announcing the film as well
as copyright information.
DIARY SERIES
NUMBERED 1A-60A. COLOR PHOTO ON FRONT WITH
"DEAR DIARY" ENTRIES ON BACK. CARD #21A HAS THE "GEORGE" AUTOGRAPH ON BACK (ALSO
CAN BE FOUND WITH "JOHN" AUTOGRAPH).
Card fronts are very simple. They
consist of a full-color photo and a small white border. THE
Beatles Diary card backs have a blue border around the outside and a drawing of
a piece of lined paper in the middle. The text consists of a first-person
account as though it were written by either John, Paul, George or Ringo. The
text doesn't necessarily match up with who is shown on the front.
COLOR PHOTO SERIES
NUMBERED 1-64. COLOR PHOTO ON FRONT WITH
QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS ON BACK. As
the name suggests, THE 1964 Topps Beatles "Color PHOTO" SERIES features
full-color IMAGES - a stark contrast from the company's multi-series Beatles
Black and White setS. WITH A CHECKLIST OF 64 CARDS, THE fronts offer a
lively look at the band, with a large color photo framed by a thin white border.
Several of the images are very similar to those used in other Topps Beatles
sets. Card backs are also a big step up from the plain backs of the Black and
White sets. They have an orange background with illustrations of all four of the
Beatles running down the side. The top of the card reads, "Beatles Color Cards."
Below that is a large box that has a question for one of the band members.
Either John, Paul, GEORGE or RINGO answer the question.
THIS COMPLETE COLLECTION IS NOT A GEM MINT 10 SET, BUT THEY ARE INDEED A
STUPENDOUS NEAR MINT, WITH SHARP CORNERS AND CENTER-CUT IMAGES. THE FRONT IMAGES
OF ALL THE CARDS ARE ABSOLUTELY CRISP, BRILLIANT AND BOLD WITH NO FADING AT ALL.
