DESCRIPTION
(ACTUAL IMAGES)FAB 4 COLLECTIBLES OFFERS THE ORIGINAL MID 1964 TOPPS CHEWING
GUM BEATLES TRADING CARDS - THE COMPLETE COLLECTION OF THE COLOR "DIARY" SERIES
OF THE U.S.A.. BUBBLE GUM CARDS IN WONDERFUL NEAR MINT CONDITION. THIS IS
ONE OF THE VERY BEST COMPLETE SET WE HAVE EVER OFFERED. THE CARDS WERE MARKED T.C.G. WHICH STOOD FOR
"TRADING CARD GUILD", AND ALL CARDS MEASURE 2˝"
X 3˝". TOPPS ISSUED SIX BEATLES SERIES, AND
WERE PRODUCED WITH DIFFERENT TOTAL CARD COUNTS TO EACH COMPLETE SERIES.
THE "DIARY" SERIES WAS THE FIFTH OF THE SIX SERIES.
THE "DIARY" Card fronts are very simple. They
consist of a full-color photo and a small white border. THE
Beatles Diary card backs have a blue border around the outside and a drawing of
a piece of lined paper in the middle. The text consists of a first-person
account as though it were written by either John, Paul, George or Ringo. The
text doesn't necessarily match up with who is shown on the front.
THE TOPPS CHEWING GUM COMPANY PRODUCED ALL THE BEATLE TRADING CARDS (BUBBLEGUM
CARDS) IN THE UNITED STATES, WHO WERE THE MAJOR PLAYER IN BOTH SPORTS AND
NON-SPORTS CARDS IN THE 1960'S.
DEMAND WAS SO GREAT FOR THE 'BEATLES' TRADING CARDS THAT TOPPS HAD TO DELAY
PRODUCTION OF THEIR 1964 BASEBALL SET TO SATISFY ORDERS FOR THE BEATLE CARDS.
With BeatlemanIA firmly entrenched IN
FEBRUARY 1964, the demand for anything with the Fab Four was hot. To this day,
the BEATLES TOPPS TRADING CARD setS remain VERY popular with collectors.
THE COLOR "DIARY" SERIES IS NUMBERED 1A-60A.
THE CARDS HAVE A COLOR PHOTO ON FRONT WITH
"DEAR DIARY" ENTRIES ON BACK.
THIS SET INCLUDES BOTH VARIATIONS
OF CARD # 21A, WITH ONE CORRECT "GEORGE" AUTOGRAPH AND ONE INCORRECT "JOHN"
AUTOGRAPH ON BACK.
THE CARDS ARE HOUSED IN THE HEAVY-DUTY MYLAR, ARCHIVAL SAFE, ACID FREE
ULTRA-PROŽ "PLATINUM-SERIES" TRADING CARD PAGE INSERTS, THE ENTIRE 60 (PLUS ONE
EXTRA 21A) CARD COLLECTION IS
THEN PRESENTED IN A 1" THICK THREE-RING LOOSE-LEAF BINDER. THE OUTSIDE COVER OF THE BINDER IS A HIGH-QUALITY REPRODUCTION
COLOR IMAGE OF THE ICONIC YELLOW 'WAX PAC'K' WRAPPER THAT WAS USED TO HOLD THE 5
CARDS AND BUBBLEGUM STICK FOR THE FIRST THREE BLACK AND WHITE SERIES. THE BACK
COVER "JUMPING" IMAGE IS THAT FROM THE GROUP'S LANDMARK FIRST MOTION PICTURE "A
HARD DAY'S NIGHT".
