DESCRIPTION (ACTUAL IMAGES) WHILE THE RELEASE OF "REVOLVER" COINCIDED WITH THE BEATLES SUMMER TOUR OF THE U.S., NO SONGS FROM THE ALBUM WERE PERFORMED, BUT THE ALBUM, OF COURSE WENT TO NUMBER 1 DESPITE THE CONTROVERSY SURROUNDING JOHN LENNON'S MUCH PUBLICIZED AND MISCONSTRUED COMMENTS CONCERNING CHRISTIANITY. ALTHOUGH LISTENERS ARE DRAWN INTO "REVOLVER" BY ITS UNIQUE SOUND IMAGES, ONE SHOULD NOT IGNORE THE BRILLIANCE OF ITS SONGS. THE BEATLES WERE NOT ENGAGING IN STUDIO WIZARDRY TO COVER WEAKNESSES. THEY WERE LOOKING FOR NEW SOUNDS TO ENHANCE THEIR SONGS. CAPITOL'S VERSION OF "REVOLVER" IS NEARLY IDENTICAL TO THE BRITISH ALBUM, AND WAS RELEASED ON AUGUST 8, 1966. THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS THAT THE CAPITOL LP HAS ELEVEN SONGS RATHER THAN FOURTEEN. THE MISSING SONGS ARE THE THREE THAT CAPITOL HAD RELEASED PREVIOUSLY ON ITS "YESTERDAY AND TODAY" ALBUM. CAPITOL PREPARED A STUNNING 25" X 32" IN-STORE POSTER TO PROMOTE "REVOLVER", AND WE'RE PROUD TO OFFER THIS SENSATIONAL EXAMPLE HERE. THE POSTER FEATURES AN ILLUSTRATION OF THE ALBUM COVER AGAINST A BLACK BACKGROUND. THE KLAUS VOORMANN COVER DESIGN IS FURTHER ACCENTUATED WITH THE WORD "BANG!" WHICH APPEARS IN LARGE YELLOW LETTERS ABOVE THE COVER. THE ALBUM NUMBER AND CAPITOL LOGO ARE IN WHITE BENEATH THE COVER. THE LOWER WHITE BORDER OF THE POSTER HAS THE WORD "INCLUDING" FOLLOWED BY A DRAWING OF A YELLOW SUBMARINE AND THE PHRASE " AND ELEANOR RIGBY". SINCE THE "REVOLVER" POSTERS WERE SHIPPED ROLLED IN TUBES TO RECORD STORES, THERE WERE NO FACTORY FOLDS TO THEM.. TO PRESERVE THIS UNIQUE AND STELLAR EXAMPLE, WE HAD THE POSTER PRESERVED, AND PROFESSIONALLY ADHERED TO AN ACID-FREE WOVEN LINEN BACKING. THIS PREVENTS THE POSTER FROM OBTAINING WRINKLES, TEARS AND TRULY BRINGS OUT THE BEAUTY OF ITS ORIGINALLY ROLLED STATE. THE LINEN BACKING PROCEDURE IS THE VERY BEST PROCEDURE FOR HAVING THE POSTER FRAMED IF ONE WISHES. THE PAPER MATERIAL UTILIZED ON THE "REVOLVER" POSTERS WERE DIFFERENT THAN THE STANDARD FLAT PAPER STOCK USED FOR THE "RUBBER SOUL" PROMOTIONAL POSTERS. THE "REVOLVER" POSTERS WERE MANUFACTURED ON A GLOSSY STOCK AND RADIATES A BEAUTIFUL SHEEN. CONSIDERED TO BE ONE OF THE RAREST OF ALL IN-STORE PROMOTIONAL BEATLES ITEMS, THIS ONE IS IN GORGEOUS "LIKE NEW", FACTORY STOCK, UNUSED CONDITION. THE WHITES ARE CLEAN AND CRISP, AND ALL THE EDGES OF THE POSTER ARE SHARP WITHOUT BENDS OR TEARS. THE GRAPHICS ARE ASTOUNDING, TO SAY THE LEAST. THIS "REVOLVER" PROMOTIONAL POSTER IS UNDOUBTEDLY ONE OF THE FINEST KNOWN TO EXIST.
