DESCRIPTION (ACTUAL IMAGES) WHEN WORD SPREAD TO NORTH AMERICA OF THE BEATLES PHENOMENAL SUCCESS OVERSEAS, CAPITOL OF CANADA DECIDED TO RELEASE THE BEATLES SECOND PARLOPHONE BRITISH LP "WITH THE BEATLES". THE RECORD COMPANY ALTERED THE FRONT COVER OF THE ALBUM BY ADDING FAVORABLE QUOTES AND RE-TITLING THE RECORD "BEATLEMANIA! WITH THE BEATLES". THIS LP HOLDS THE DISTINCTION OF BEING THE FIRST BEATLES ALBUM RELEASED IN NORTH AMERICA (DECEMBER 2, 1963), PRECEDING VEE-JAY'S "INTRODUCING THE BEATLES" AND CAPITOL'S "MEET THE BEATLES". "BEATLEMANIA! WITH THE BEATLES" WAS ISSUED AS PART OF THE LABEL'S "6000 SERIES", WHICH CONCENTRATED ON POP ALBUMS, AND WAS ASSIGNED NUMBER T-6051, AND WAS ONLY ISSUED IN MONO. THE THIRD BEATLES ALBUM RELEASED BY CAPITOL OF CANADA ("TWIST AND SHOUT" WAS THE SECOND) WAS "LONG TALL SALLY", ISSUED ON APRIL 27, 1964 AND ASSIGNED NUMBER T-6063, AND ISSUED ONLY IN MONO. IN CONTRAST TO THE FIRST TWO ALBUMS, THE DISC CONTAINS TWELVE RATHER THAN FOURTEEN SONGS. THE ALBUM COVER FEATURES THE SAME BASIC LAYOUT, PHOTOGRAPHS AND GRAPHICS AS THE COVER OF "THE BEATLES' SECOND ALBUM", WITH MINOR CHANGES. THE TEXT BELOW THE TITLE ON THE AMERICAN COVER IS REPLACED WITH A LIST OF SOME OF THE SONGS APPEARING ON THE ALBUM. THE FEATURE REFERENCE TO "SHE LOVES YOU" AND "ROLL OVER BEETHOVEN" ON THE AMERICAN COVER DOES NOT APPEAR. "LITHO IN CANADA" IS PLACED VERTICALLY TOWARDS THE RIGHT LOWER CORNER. THE BACK COVER ALSO HAS THE SAME LAYOUT AND PHOTOGRAPHS AS THAT OF "THE BEATLES' SECOND ALBUM". THE DIFFERENCE O F THE BACK COVER ARE THE TEXT CHANGES. OFFERED HERE IS THE ORIGINAL VERY FIRST PRESSING OF "LONG TALL SALLY" (Capitol Of Canada T-6063). THE HAND-ETCHED NUMBERS ARE "XEX-471-2" ON SIDE ONE AND "XEX-472" ON SIDE TWO IN THE TRAIL OFF AREAS OF THE DISC. THERE ARE NO other markings IN THE RUN-OUT. THE LABELS HAVE THE "MANUFACTURED BY CAPITOL RECORDS OF CANADA, ETC.." PERIMETER PRINT. ON THE LATER 1966 BLACK LABEL RELEASE, THE PERIMETER PRINT READ "MANUFACTURED BY CAPITOL RECORDS (CANADA)..." With "(CANADA)" IN PARENTHESIS. THIS EXTREMELY INSIGHTFUL INFORMATION EMANATES FROM NOTED CANADIAN RECORDS EXPERT, PIERS HEMMINGSEN, AUTHOR OF THE WONDERFUL "CANADIAN RECORDS" SERIES OF BOOKS AND PUBLICATIONS. THE ALBUM COVER IS ONE OF THE VERY BEST WE'VE EVER SEEN, .AN ABSOLUTELY EXEMPLARY EXAMPLE, GRADING AT A NEAR MINT. THE COVER IS A CLEAN BRIGHT WHITE THROUGHOUT, WITH VIBRANT GRAPHICS. THERE IS NO RINGWEAR, CHIPS OR WEAR ANYWHERE, AND ALL FOUR CORNERS ARE SHARP. THERE IS ONLY SOME MINOR AND VERY LIGHT TYPICAL AGING TONING LINES ALONG THE MOUTH'S EDGE ON THE FRONT ONLY. THE SPINE IS IMPECCABLE AND COMPLETELY LEGIBLE FROM TOP TO BOTTOM. THE RECORD IS A SPECTACULAR NEAR MINT MINUS WITH DEEP GROOVES, AND APPEARS TO HAVE JUST TWO SUPERFICIAL SURFACE LINES DUE TO INNER SLEEVE PULLS. THE NEAR MINT LABELS ARE BEAUTIFUL WITH A RADIATING SHINY GLOSS. ACCOMPANIED BY THE DISC'S ORIGINAL AND CORRECT PERIOD CAPITOL OF CANADA "PATHE'" INNER DUST SLEEVE, IN BRIGHT, CLEAN VG+++ CONDITION. THERE ARE NO SPLITS, WITH ONLY SOME NATURAL CORNER CREASES DUE TO THE ORIGINAL RECORD INSERTION INTO THE COVER.
