DESCRIPTION (ACTUAL IMAGES) THE BEATLES WERE FEATURED ON THIS EXTREMELY RARE PROMOTIONAL LP ALBUM DISC, WHICH WAS ISSUED TO RADIO STATIONS IN EARLY 1964. BOTH THE FRONT AND THE BACK LINER EXPLAIN THAT THE DISC IS "BALANCED FOR BROADCAST". ACCORDING TO THE BACK LINER, "THE SELECTIONS IN THIS SPECIALLY-PREPARED LP HAVE BEEN ARRANGED IN A SEQUENCE WHICH WILL ENABLE YOU TO PRESENT AN ENTIRE SIDE AT A TIME. IN OTHER WORDS, 'INSTANT PROGRAMMING', FROM THE FIRST THROUGH THE LAST TRACK". SIDE TWO CONTAINS THE BEATLES SONGS THIS BOY AND IT WON'T BE LONG SEQUENCED WITH TUNES BY THE LIKES OF WAYNE NEWTON, FREDDY MARTIN (DANCE ORCHESTRA LEADER AND FATHER OF CAPITOL PRESS RELATIONS MANAGER FRED MARTIN JR.), COMEDIANS LES WEINRIB AND JOYCE JAMESON, FOLK SINGER DICK WEISSMAN AND COUNTRY ARTIST WANDA JACKSON. IT IS DESCRIBED AS BEING "SUITABLE FOR 'VARIETY' MUSIC STATIONS." ALTHOUGH CAPITOL HOPED STATIONS WOULD BROADCAST AN ENTIRE SIDE AT A TIME, IT IS UNLIKELY THAT ANY DISC JOCKEYS WERE LAZY ENOUGH TO PROGRAM EITHER SIDE OF THE DISC FROM START TO FINISH. ISSUED ONLY IN MONO AND PRESSED ONLY AT CAPITOL'S
LOS ANGELES FACTORY, THIS VERY RARE EARLY 1964 PROMOTIONAL ONLY LP IS
THE VERY FIRST PROMOTIONAL ALBUM ISSUED WITH BEATLES MATERIAL IN THE U.S.A..-
AND IS ONE OF THE TRUE EARLY BEATLES RARE RECORDS. IT WAS NOT AVAILABLE IN
STORES. THE BACK COVER ALSO HAS AN IMAGE OF THE "MEET THE BEATLES" ALBUM ALONG
WITH THE SONG TRACK LISTINGS OF THIS LP INCLUDING OF COURSE, THE TWO BEATLES
SONGS. THE SET ALSO INCLUDES THE ORIGINAL AND CORRECT EARLY 1964 CAPITOL BLUE INNER DUST SLEEVE IN NEAR MINT CONDITION.
