"THE EARLY BEATLES" CAPITOL ST-2309 STEREO RELEASED: 3/22/65 SCRANTON FACTORY
FIRST PRESSING WITH RARER "ANCHOR" STAMPER
DESCRIPTION (ACTUAL IMAGES) HERE IS AN OUTSTANDING EXAMPLE OF CAPITOL'S MARCH 1965 ALBUM "THE EARLY BEATLES" THAT SOLD REASONABLY WELL, CONSIDERING IT CONTAINED NO NEW SONGS, AND ALL WERE PREVIOUSLY AND EXHAUSTEDLY RELEASED ON VEE-JAY'S "INTRODUCING THE BEATLES" LP ALBUM AND OTHER FORMATS. FOR THAT REASON, CAPITOL DID NOT PRESS MANY COPIES OF THIS TITLE. THIS STEREO FIRST PRESSING EMANATED FROM THE SCRANTON, PENNSYLVANIA FACTORY AND IS FOUND WITH THE RARER SCRANTON "ANCHOR" STAMPER DESIGNATION, RATHER THAN THE STANDARD "I AM" LETTERING IN THE TRIANGLE STAMPER COMMONLY FOUND ON EAST COAST PRESSINGS OF CAPITOL ALBUMS. THE NEAR MINT COVER RETAINS THE ORIGINAL FACTORY SHRINKWRAP AND IS FOUND WITH FOUR FACTORY "BREATH" HOLES (2 ON THE FRONT, 2 ON THE BACK). THERE IS A SMALL SHRINK SEPARATION ON THE BACK LOWER LEFT CORNER WITH NO AFFECT TO THE COVER. THE VITAL "STEREO NEEDLE DAMAGE" PRINT INFO IS EVIDENT ALONG THE BOTTOM EDGE OF THE BACK COVER, SIGNIFYING THIS IS A TRUE FIRST PRESSING. THE RECORD IS A GLIMMERING NEAR MINT JEWEL AND APPEARS IT HAS BEEN PLAYED ONCE, MAYBE TWICE THEN STORED. THE LABELS ARE THE STUNNING CAPITOL "GLOSSY" VARIATION AND ARE ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT AND BOLD. THE NEAR MINT ORIGINAL EAST COAST CAPITOL RECORDS OLIVE GREEN ADVERTISING INNER DUST SLEEVE (PE12-2ES) ACCOMPANIES THE HEAVY-WEIGHT DISC.
