"WE CAN WORK IT OUT" B/W "DAY TRIPPER" CAPITOL RECORDS 5555 RELEASED: MAY 1969 RED AND WHITE CIRCLE STARLINE LABEL MEGA-RARE JACKSONVILLE LIMITED PRESSING CONDITION: M- "AS NEW" (UNPLAYED) ITEM#: S555 PRICE: ------ |

DESCRIPTION (ACTUAL SCANS) WHEN CAPITOL RECORDS OPENED ITS JACKSONVILLE, ILLINOIS PLANT IN JULY 1965, THE FACTORY ONLY PRESSED ALBUMS. IN LATE 1968, ONLY A FEW 45-RPM PRESSING MACHINES WERE INSTALLED, SO PRODUCTION OF SINGLES WAS LIMITED TO RELATIVELY SMALL RUNS OF A FEW SELECT TITLES. THESE DISCS HAVE EITHER A HAND ETCHED CIRCLE OR A MACHINE STAMPED "0" IN THEIR TRAIL-OFF AREAS. THE ONLY BEATLES SINGLE MANUFACTURED AT JACKSONVILLE IN THE SIXTIES WAS "WE CAN WORK IT OUT", CAPITOL 5555 (SAME RELEASE NUMBER FROM ITS INITIAL RELEASE IN 1965). IN 1968, JACKSONVILLE PRESSED "WE CAN WORK IT OUT" ON THE SUBSIDIARY SWIRL LABELS WITH SMALL PRINT (ALSO AVAILABLE - CLICK HERE TO VIEW). THEN, AFTER CAPITOL PHASED OUT IT'S SWIRL LABELS, IN MAY 1969 THE FACTORY MISTAKENLY PRESSED A VERY LIMITED RUN OF THE "WE CAN WORK IT OUT" SINGLE WITH THE NEW RED AND WHITE CIRCLE STARLINE LABEL (CAP 5555.55, SPIZER). BEING THAT THIS LABEL WAS PHASED OUT IMMEDIATELY, THIS RECORD IS THE ONLY BEATLES 45 SINGLE PRESSED ON THE RED AND WHITE CIRCLE STARLINE LABEL AND IS EXTREMELY RARE, AND CONSIDERED ONE OF THE RAREST AND MOST VALUABLE OF THE CAPITOL BEATLES SINGLES. TO DATE, IT IS ESTIMATED THAT LESS THAN TEN HAVE SURFACED, AND THE MAJORITY
OF THOSE DISCOVERED ARE IN POOR CONDITION. THE EXCEPTIONAL EXAMPLE BEING OFFERED
HERE IS IN SPECTACULAR MINT MINUS "AS NEW" UNPLAYED CONDITION AND SHIMMERS LIKE A JEWEL.
THE LABELS GRADE A VIBRANT MINT MINUS AS WELL.
