DESCRIPTION (ACTUAL IMAGES) CAPITOL LAUNCHED ITS STAR LINE SINGLES SERIES IN OCTOBER 1965, AS A VEHICLE TO
REISSUE OLD HIT SINGLES. THERE WERE SIX BEATLES FAB 4 COLLECTIBLES PROUDLY OFFERS HERE AN INCREDIBLY RARE COMPLETE SET OF VINTAGE OCTOBER 1965 U.S. CAPITOL RECORDS DESIGNATE PROMOTIONAL GREEN SWIRL STARLINE 45 SINGLES. THIS IS INDEED A MATCHING SET OF ULTRA-RARE PROMOTIONAL ISSUED 45s AS MANUFACTURED AT THE CAPITOL LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA FACTORY. THE PROMO MARKED LABELS HAVE THE BLACK INK STAMPING "D.J. COPY" ON EACH SINGLE. THIS IS ONE OF THE RAREST PROMOTIONAL BEATLES ITEMS THERE IS - AND IT IS THE FIRST WE HAVE SEEN OR DOCUMENTED THIS SET AS ORIGINAL AND AUTHENTIC. IT IS AN INCREDIBLE MATCHING SET ALL MADE AT THE SAME TIME FOR THE SAME PURPOSE - AND SENT TO RADIO STATIONS IN THE UNITED STATES. TAKE NOTE THAT THE "LOVE ME DO" 45 SINGLE USED THE PROMOTIONAL MARKING ON THE B-SIDE "P.S. I LOVE YOU", FOR CAPITOL THOUGHT IT WAS THE STRONGER SONG FOR THAT SINGLE. BACK IN 1962, THE BEATLES THOUGHT SO AS WELL, ONLY CHOOSING " LOVE ME DO " WHEN THERE WAS ANOTHER HIT SONG AT THE TIME WITH THE SAME / SIMILAR TITLE AS "P.S. I LOVE YOU". THIS RARE STARLINE SET ARE ALL IN BEAUTIFUL MATCHING NEAR MINT MINUS TO VG+++ CONDITION ON THE VINYL. THE FLIP-SIDE LABELS ARE NOT PROMOTIONALLY MARKED AND THEY ARE NEAR MINT. THE PROMOTIONALLY MARKED SIDE OF EACH LABEL HAS A RECTANGLE OIL STICKER STAIN. THAT WAS WHERE A STICKER DENOTING THE PLAY SIDE WAS ONCE PLACED WITH THE POSSIBLE RUNNING TIME WRITTEN IN FOR THE DISC JOCKEY. THOSE WERE SUCCESSFULLY REMOVED AT SOME POINT WITHOUT TEARS TO THE LABELS. ALSO INCLUDED ARE THE 6 MATCHING BLUE CAPITOL STARLINE SLEEVES. ONE OF THOSE SLEEVES MENTIONS THE BEATLES STARLINES ON IT, THE OTHERS DO NOT. THESE BLUE STARLINE BEATLES SINGLES WERE ISSUED WITH EITHER SLEEVE DURING THEIR ENTIRE SALES RUN OF 1965 AND 1966. IT IS ASSURED AND MOST POSITIVE THAT WE WON'T SEE ANOTHER STARLINE DESIGNATE PROMOTIONAL "D.J. COPY" SET LIKE THIS ANYTIME SOON.
