SONGS, PICTURES AND STORIES OF THE FABULOUS BEATLES VEE-JAY S-1092, STEREO ¾ GATEFOLD COVER RELEASED: 10/12/64 WITH RARE "CONCERT HALL,
PHILADELPHIA, SEPT. 2, 1964"
CONDITION: VG+++ / NM- THIS VEE-JAY ALBUM IS A FANCY RE-PACKAGING OF THE SECOND VERSION
OF "INTRODUCING THE BEATLES", AND AS EXPECTED WITH ALL VEE-JAY RECORDS, A STEREO
PRESSING OF THIS LP IN THIS CONDITION IS A GREAT FIND. THE SCARCITY OF THE
STEREO VERSION OF THIS RECORD IS NOT SURPRISING CONSIDERING THAT LESS THAN 2% OF
THE ALBUMS SOLD (7,375) WERE STEREO. AN ADDED BONUS ON THIS EXAMPLE, ONE OF THE VARIOUS RARE 'CONCERT BANNER' STICKERS IS ADHERED TO THE BOTTOM OF FRONT COVER. THESE "BANNER" ALBUMS WERE SOLD EXCLUSIVELY AT RECORD STORES LOCATED IN THE CONCERT VENUE CITIES. THIS EXAMPLE IS FROM THE GROUP'S SEPTEMBER 2, 1964 APPEARANCE AT THE "CONVENTION HALL" IN PHILADELPHIA, PA. THE COVER GRADES A STRONG VG+++ WITH SOME MINOR HANDLING WEAR AND THE INNER GATEFOLD CENTER SEAM HAS A 2" SPLIT, WHICH IS VERY COMMON ON THESE FRAGILE COVERS. THE ACCOMPANYING "INTRODUCING THE BEATLES" STEREO RECORD IS THE COLORBAND AND BRACKETS VARIATION WITH "STEREO" PRINT AT THE 12 O'CLOCK POSITION ON THE LABELS (VJ1062(2).SR2A, SPIZER). THIS RECORD WAS MANUFACTURED BY ARP. THE CONDITION OF THE RECORD IS A SHIMMERING NEAR MINT MINUS ON SIDE ONE, AND A VG+++ ON SIDE TWO. THE STEREO VERSION OF THIS TITLE IS RELATIVELY RARE IN ANY CONDITION, ESPECIALLY WITH THE CONCERT BANNER ADHERED TO THE FRONT. INCLUDES THE VEE-JAY "AD BACK" INNER DUST SLEEVE.
