"THE EARLY BEATLES" CAPITOL ST-2309 STEREO RELEASED: 3/22/65 CONDITION: STILL SEALED ITEM#: LP498 PRICE: ------ |
||
DESCRIPTION (ACTUAL IMAGES) THIS IS AN EXQUISITE STILL SEALED EXAMPLE OF CAPITOL'S MARCH 1965 ALBUM THAT SOLD REASONABLY WELL, CONSIDERING IT CONTAINED NO NEW SONGS, AND ALL WERE PREVIOUSLY AND EXHAUSTEDLY RELEASED ON VEE-JAY'S "INTRODUCING THE BEATLES" LP ALBUM AND OTHER FORMATS. FOR THAT REASON, CAPITOL DID NOT PRESS MANY COPIES OF THIS TITLE. THE COVER HAS AN EXTREMELY TIGHT SEAL CORNER TO CORNER. THERE ARE NO RIPS, NO TEARS. ONE FACTORY SHRINK "BREATH HOLE" IS EVIDENT ON THE FRONT. THE VITAL "STEREO NEEDLE DAMAGE" PRINT INFO IS EVIDENT ALONG THE BOTTOM EDGE OF THE BACK COVER, SIGNIFYING THIS IS A TRUE FIRST PRESSING. THERE IS NO FACTORY NUMBER, MAKING THIS MOST LIKELY A RARER COLUMBIA, DECCA OR RCA RECORDS FACTORY CONTRACT PRESSING. THE CAPITOL RECORDS OLIVE GREEN ADVERTISING DUST SLEEVE (SUMMER TO LATE 1965 ) IS BARELY VISIBLE THROUGH THE TIGHTLY SEALED MOUTH OPENING. THIS SEALED EXAMPLE HAS A COMPLETE WRAP ALL THE WAY AROUND AND HAS FOUR SHARP CORNERS. FRONT COVER GRAPHICS AND COLORS ARE ASTONISHING.
BACK COVER REMAINS A CLEAN "WHITE" THROUGHOUT, WITHOUT ANY RECORD IMPRESSION OR RINGWEAR.
THE SPINE IS ROCK SOLID AND CENTERED. THERE IS A 2½"
X 1¼" ARLAN'S DEPARTMENT STORE PRICE STICKER
REMAINING ADHERED ON THE BACK COVER SHRINK TO THE LEFT OF CENTER, ALONG THE TOP
EDGE. THERE IS 1" SHRINK SPLIT ALONG THE TOP EDGE WHERE THE PRICE STICKER IS
ADHERED, WITHOUT ANY EFFECT TO THE COVER IN THAT AREA.
Arlan's was an American discount store
chaiN, founded In New Bedford, Massachusetts AND opened its 50th store in
Cudahy, Wisconsin in 1965. At this point, the chain EXPANDED ITS stores in 18
states from Maine to Colorado.
