DESCRIPTION WHEN PRESSING PLANTS RAN OUT OF STEREO COVERS, VEE-JAY DID NOT WAIT FOR NEW COVERS TO ARRIVE. INSTEAD THEY CONVERTED MONO COVERS INTO STEREO COVERS BY PLACING STICKERS ON THE COVERS. TWO "STICKER" CONVERTED COVER VARIATIONS HAVE BEEN CONFIRMED, AND THIS EXAMPLE BEING OFFERED HERE IS THE 1" x 2½" WHITE RECTANGULAR STICKER WITH "STEREOPHONIC" IN BLACK AFFIXED TO THE LOWER LEFT QUADRANT OF THE COVER (VJ 1062(2).SC2, SPIZER). FURTHERMORE, THIS FABULOUS COVER REMAINS IN THE ORIGINAL LOOSE-FITTING BAGGY SHRINKWRAP. THIS BY FAR, IS THE VERY BEST STEREO "INTRODUCING THE BEATLES" VERSION TWO WITH THIS RARE STICKER VARIATION WE HAVE EVER ACQUIRED AND HAVE HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO OFFER. THE COVER CONDITION OF THIS ABSOLUTE BEAUTY IS A NEAR MINT MINUS, WITH ALL OF IT'S COLORS AND GRAPHICS REMAINING BRIGHT, DEEP AND RICH AS THE DAY IT WAS RELEASED. REMAINING UNTOUCHED BENEATH THE ORIGINAL SHRINKWRAP OVER ALL THESE MANY YEARS, IS THE RARE "STEREOPHONIC" STICKER. ADHERED TO THE ACTUAL COVER BENEATH THE SHRINKWRAP, THE STICKER IS PERFECT CORNER TO CORNER AND IN ALL PROBABILITY ONE OS THE BEST EXAMPLES KNOWN TO EXIST. A ROUND GREEN 1¾" "ALBERTSON'S" $3.98 PRICE STICKER REMAINS ADHERED TO THE UPPER RIGHT CORNER OF THE FRONT COVER SHRINK. THE VERY MINOR FLAWS EVIDENT IS SOME SLIGHT RUBBING AND HANDLING TO THE OUTSIDE OF THE SHRINK, AND A 1¾" X 2" SHRINK SEAM SEPARATION ON THE BACK COVER SHRINK NEAR THE RIGHT EDGE, WITH NO AFFECT TO THE COVER AT ALL. THIS IS THE EXTENT OF ANY SIGN OF WEAR. THERE IS NO RINGWEAR, NO TEARS, NO SPLITS TO THE COVER. THE BACK COVER REMAINS A STARK, BRIGHT WHITE. THE SPINE IS MERE PERFECTION. SQUARE, LEGIBLE AND SOLID THROUGHOUT. THE ACCOMPANYING STEREO RECORD IS A STUNNING VG+++ (NEAR MINT MINUS) EXAMPLE. IT IS THE ALL BLACK LABEL WITH SILVER PRINT AND THE LARGE "VJ" LOGO WITH "VEE-JAY RECORDS" PRINTED BELOW. IT HAS LEFT JUSTIFIED TITLES AND CREDITS AND DOES NOT HAVE "LONG PLAYING" AND MICROGROOVE" ON THE LABEL. ALTHOUGH IT HAS "URJ" AND THE "MR" MONARCH RECORDS LOGO IN THE TRAIL-OFF AREAS ON BOTH SIDES, THE DEEP CIRCULAR INDENTION LOCATED INSIDE THE OUTER BORDER OF THE LABEL SIGNIFIES THAT THIS RECORD WAS PRESSED BY COLUMBIA RECORDS IN TERRE HAUTE, INDIANA WITH STAMPERS PREVIOUSLY USED BY MONARCH. THIS VERSION IS THE ONLY VERIFIED STEREO RECORD OF "INTRODUCING THE BEATLES" ON A LABEL WITHOUT THE COLORBAND. (VJ 1062(2).SR4B, SPIZER). QUALITY High end "INTRODUCING THE BEATLES" albums are true gems and are significant Collectibles - PARTICULARLY for the less common STEREO pressings. THE RELATIVE SCARCITY OF STEREO COPIES IS NOT SURPRISING, FOR ONLY 3.1% OF THE ALBUMS SOLD WERE STEREO. ACCOMPANIED BY ORIGINAL VEE-JAY GENERIC DIE-CUT WHITE INNER DUST SLEEVE. THIS PIECE IS ACCOMPANIED BY A LETTER OF AUTHENTICITY FROM PERRY COX, PROMINENT BEATLES U.S. RECORDS EXPERT AND AUTHOR OF "THE BEATLES RECORD PRICE GUIDE" SERIES OF BOOKS. MR. COX'S LETTERS ARE CONSIDERED TO BE THE GOLD STANDARD OF THE COLLECTING COMMUNITY.
