THE SECOND GEORGE MARTIN SINGLE (UA-750) IS ONE OF THE RARER BEATLES SLEEVES AVAILABLE, FOR ITS LOW NUMBERS ARE DUE TO UNITED ARTIST'S VERY LIMITED PRESS RUN, AND VERY FEW OF THE 45'S WERE ISSUED IN THIS VERY ATTRACTIVE PICTURE SLEEVE - KNOWN AMONG COLLECTORS AS THE "BLUE AIRPORT SLEEVE".

THE FRONT OF THE SLEEVE FEATURES A BLACK AND WHITE PICTURE OF THE GROUP WITH A VIBRANT BLUE BACKGROUND RECTANGULAR BOX AT THE TOP. THE TEXT, GRAPHICS AND LAYOUT OF THE STRIKING BLUE UPPER PORTION OF THE SLEEVE IS SIMILAR TO THAT OF THE RED UPPER SLEEVE OF THE FIRST UNITED ARTISTS BEATLES SINGLE (UA745). THE BACK OF THE UA750 SLEEVE HAS A BLACK AND WHITE ROBERT FREEMAN PHOTOGRAPH OF THE GROUP STANDING WITH GEORGE MARTIN THAT PREVIOUSLY APPEARED ON THE COVER OF MARTIN'S FIRST UA ALBUM, "OFF THE BEATLES TRACK".

OFFERED HERE S A MOST RESPECTABLE AND SOLID EXAMPLE. GRADED AS A VG++. IT DISPLAYS SOME HANDLING AND LIGHT WEAR ON BOTH SIDES. AND MINIMAL RECORD IMPRESSION. IT RETAINS STRAIGHT EDGES, LAYS NICE AND FLAT WITH NO SPLITS, NO WRITING, NO HOLES.

ACCOMPANYING DISC IS THE UNCONFIRMED STORE STOCK COPY, WITH "GEORGE MARTIN & HIS ORCHESTRA" ON ONE LINE IN SMALL PRINT WITH "ORCHESTRA" SPELLED OUT IN FULL.

HERE IS A MOST SPLENDID AND SOLID NEAR MINT MINUS, WITH STRAIGHT EDGES, LAYS NICE AND FLAT WITH NO SPLITS, NO WRITING, NO HOLES. MOST IMPORTANTLY, THERE IS NO RINGWEAR (USUALLY THE CULPRIT ON THESE SLEEVES), YET ONLY HAS VERY LIGHT TRACES OF HALF RECORD IMPRESSION (NOT RINGWEAR) ONLY NEAR THE BOTTOM AREAS, A ND MINIMAL SUPERFICIAL HANDLING WEAR AT THE TOP. NO RIPS OR TEARS.

THE ACCOMPANYING STOCK COPY DISC IS AN ABSOLUTE AND VITAL COUP - AND UNTIL NOW HAD BEEN DEEMED UNCONFIRMED EVER BEING PRODUCED (SEE BRUCE SPIZER'S BOOK "THE BEATLES SWAN SONG", PAGES 50 & 53). IT IS THE COLUMBIA RECORDS (BRIDGEPORT, CT.) PRESSING SMALL PRINT VARIATION, THAT WAS ONLY ISSUED AS THE WHITE LABEL PROMOTIONAL COPY (ALSO AVAILABLE FROM FAB 4 COLLECTIBLES). THIS IS INDEED THE VERY FIRST STOCK COPY WE HAVE KNOWN TO SURFACE (UA750.01A, SPIZER). THE RECORD IS IN STUNNING VG+++ (BORERS EVER SO CLOSELY TO NM-), WITH A DEEP GLIMMERING SHEEN TO THE GROOVES. JUST A FEW HAIRLINE "WHISPS" FROM SLEEVE PULLS. THE LABELS ARE NEAR MINT.

THIS IS THE PROMOTIONAL COPY 45 SINGLE FOR THE MUCH SOUGHT AFTER UNITED ARTISTS "BLUE AIRPORT SLEEVE" RELEASE FOR "A HARD DAY'S NIGHT". THIS PARTICULAR EXAMPLE IS THE TERRE HAUTE, INDIANA PRESSING (UA750.DJ1B, SPIZER), WHICH HAS "GEORGE MARTIN & HIS ORCH." ON ONE LINE IN LARGE PRINT, AND "NOT FOR SALE" IN TWO LINES ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE LABEL.

CONDITION IS A SHIMMERING AND STELLAR  MINT MINUS UNPLAYED "AS NEW" GEM. MOST DIFFICULT TO FIND THESE PROMOTIONAL ISSUES THIS CLEAN. THE LABELS ARE A SNOW WHITE.

ACCOMPANIED BY GENERIC UNITED ARTISTS BLUE AND BLACK CHECKERED DESIGN SLEEVE.

THIS LABEL VARIATION IS THE RARER PROMOTIONAL COPY FOR THE UA "BLUE AIRPORT SLEEVE" RELEASE FOR "A HARD DAY'S NIGHT".

CONDITION IS A BEAUTIFUL NEAR MINT MINUS WITH A HIGH GLOSS SHEEN AND VERY MINIMAL PLAY TIME EVIDENT. THERE ARE TWO BLUE BALLPOINT MARKINGS ON THE B-SIDE, DESIGNATING THAT THIS SIDE SHOULD FACE DOWN ON THE TURNTABLE.

ACCOMPANIED BY GENERIC UNITED ARTISTS BLUE AND BLACK CHECKERED DESIGN SLEEVE.
